1. About KarmaGuides
KarmaGuides ("we", "us", "our") is an introduction service operated by an individual based in Ontario, Canada. We connect seekers with independent spiritual and holistic practitioners ("guides") through a curated matching process. KarmaGuides is not a booking platform, a therapy service, a medical provider, or a marketplace. We make introductions. All sessions, scheduling, and payments happen directly between seekers and guides.
2. Who can use KarmaGuides
You must be 18 years of age or older to use KarmaGuides as a seeker or to apply as a guide. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement. KarmaGuides is available to users worldwide, subject to these Terms.
3. What KarmaGuides is and is not
KarmaGuides is an introduction service. We:
- Match seekers with vetted independent practitioners based on quiz responses
- Provide practitioner profile pages for informational purposes
- Facilitate initial introductions between seekers and guides
KarmaGuides does not:
- Employ, supervise, or control any guide listed on the platform
- Process, hold, or facilitate payments between seekers and guides
- Provide medical, psychological, legal, financial, or therapeutic services
- Guarantee the outcome of any session between a seeker and a guide
- Verify the credentials, licenses, or qualifications of practitioners beyond our own vetting process
4. Practitioner independence
All guides listed on KarmaGuides are independent practitioners. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of KarmaGuides. KarmaGuides does not supervise, direct, or control the services they provide. Any agreement for services is solely between the seeker and the guide.
5. Health, medical, and wellness disclaimer
Nothing on KarmaGuides constitutes medical advice, mental health treatment, psychological counseling, or any form of regulated health service. The practices listed on our platform, including but not limited to Ayurveda, homeopathy, naturopathy, somatic healing, breathwork, and energy healing, are offered for wellness and personal exploration purposes only.
Do not use KarmaGuides as a substitute for professional medical care, mental health treatment, or emergency services. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, or thoughts of self-harm, please contact emergency services or a licensed healthcare provider in your country immediately.
Practitioners who offer health-adjacent services on KarmaGuides are required to frame their services as wellness guidance only. They are not authorized through this platform to diagnose, treat, or prescribe.
6. Divination and spiritual services disclaimer
Services including but not limited to tarot reading, astrology, Jyotish, Akashic Records reading, psychic readings, mediumship, and clairvoyant readings are offered for personal reflection, spiritual exploration, and entertainment purposes. They are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including financial, medical, or legal advice. Astrological or numerological readings that touch on timing for business decisions, investments, or financial matters do not constitute financial advice and should not be relied upon as such. KarmaGuides makes no representations about the accuracy, reliability, or validity of any such reading or session.
7. No professional advice
Nothing on KarmaGuides constitutes legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, or any other form of professional regulated advice. Do not make significant life decisions solely on the basis of a session with a guide found through KarmaGuides.
8. Seeker responsibilities
By using the quiz and matching service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information in the quiz to the best of your ability
- Use the introduction for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Conduct your own due diligence before engaging any guide for paid services
- Communicate directly with guides regarding their services, fees, and availability
9. Guide responsibilities
By applying to and being listed on KarmaGuides, guides agree to:
- Provide accurate information in their application and profile
- Operate within the scope of their stated modality and qualifications
- Frame health-adjacent services as wellness guidance, not medical treatment
- Handle seeker information with confidentiality and care
- Maintain their own professional liability and insurance where applicable
- Comply with the laws and professional regulations of their own jurisdiction
Guides who breach these responsibilities may have their listing suspended or removed from the platform at KarmaGuides' sole discretion.
10. Indemnification by guides
By listing on KarmaGuides, guides agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless KarmaGuides and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) the guide's services or conduct toward a seeker, (b) any misrepresentation in the guide's application or profile, or (c) the guide's violation of any applicable law or regulation.
11. Fees and commercial terms for guides
KarmaGuides is currently free for all guides. There are no listing fees, subscription fees, or commissions charged at this time.
A paid tier may be introduced in the future. Guides will receive at least 30 days written notice before any fees are introduced. If a paid tier is introduced, separate terms covering payment, billing cycles, cancellation, and refund policies will be provided at that time and will form part of this agreement.
KarmaGuides reserves the right to remove a guide's listing for breach of these Terms. In the event that paid fees have been collected and a guide is removed for breach, no refund will be issued for the breaching period. If a guide is removed for reasons other than breach, a pro-rated refund of any prepaid fees will be provided.
12. Vetting process
KarmaGuides reviews all practitioner applications and declines most applicants. However, our vetting process is not a guarantee of practitioner quality, competence, or suitability for any particular seeker. Vetting is our reasonable effort to maintain quality, not a professional certification or endorsement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KarmaGuides shall not be liable for:
- Any harm, loss, or damage arising from a session between a seeker and a guide
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information provided by guides
- Any decisions made by a seeker based on a session with a guide
- Technical errors, interruptions, or data loss on the platform
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of KarmaGuides shall not exceed $50 CAD, regardless of the nature of the claim.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law, including consumer protection laws in India, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction where mandatory protections apply.
14. Dispute resolution
If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us first at hello@karmaguides.com We will make a genuine effort to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days. If informal resolution fails, disputes involving users in India may be referred to the appropriate consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. All other disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
15. Local consumer rights
If you are located in a jurisdiction with consumer protection laws that provide rights beyond those described in these Terms, including rights under Indian consumer protection law, United States state consumer protection statutes, or European Union consumer law, those local rights are not affected or limited by these Terms.
16. Intellectual property
The KarmaGuides name, wordmark, quiz design, matching methodology, and platform content are owned by KarmaGuides. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. This choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protection rights under the law of your own jurisdiction.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of KarmaGuides after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users by email.
